'Grey Matter' - a project to document the bodies of women in their wisdom years - 40+ years and beyond.

This project is very special to me and was born out of my own journey as a woman in an ever changing body - watching it as it changes, tightens, loosens, wrinkles, scars, moves and shifts with the years. I am passionate about women being seen in all phases of their life, and particularly the stories our body and skin hold. It is also about redefining the beauty of bodies that are traditionally seen as outside the normal standards of what is beautiful or worthy of attention. 

Work will be collaborative between participants and the photographer to create a body of work that will be curated as an exhibition piece and/ or a photographic book. But first and foremost, it is a journey of deep connection with women and their stories and making artful portraits as an expression of those stories.

Grey Matter Project

It will involve semi and fully nude portraits in various locations - in the home or the natural environment.

Every body has a story. Every body is a beautiful body.

What will a session with me be like? 
~ Meet for a cuppa and a chat to get to know each other better (we don’t have to take portraits on the first meeting but maybe we will)
~ Meet up again for a photo session in a location we have agreed upon (eg. Your home, a nature space, a water space etc), lots of fun, laughs, basking in the sunlight in the nude etc. Maybe we will meet up several times, or just the once…let’s just play.
~ Photos will be edited and you will receive some for your own keepsake (digital copies)
~ Photos will be collated for a future exhibition or photographic book release TBC 

A few other things to note:
*This project does involve partial or full nudity. 
*You do not need to do anything to prepare for this, your body is glorious just the way it is everyday.
*There is no cost to participate in this project, your presence is a gift to me and I in turn will gift the digital photos to you. If you wish to print the images for personal use (I can arrange for you at your own expense).

Participant fine print:
~ Each participant will be required to sign a model release form
~ Unless otherwise agreed to specifically upon booking, photography from these sessions may be used by the photographer (content owner) for the purpose of creating samples of work for portfolio use (online, editorial, photographic competitions or exhibitions, and general sharing across photographer’s platforms) without further consent.
